Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth has announce the alliterative codename for Ubuntu 10.04 which will be released in April: Lucid Lynx. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS will ship in April 2010 and is the finale of significant work in Ubuntu, in Debian and across the free software ecosystem. LTS releases are maintained for five years on the server and three years on the desktop. This means that security updates will be available for five years for servers and three years for desktops. This is only a small experiment about the speed of data transfer between ntfs and ext4 filesystems. I tried to show that file system which has a data transfer speed where is faster ntfs or ext. I use Xubuntu and windows xp professional. I use data a folder that contains some data that measures the size of 72.2 mb. And the second data is application with size 151mb. I Transferred data from ntfs to ext4, ntfs to ntfs, ntfs to ext4, and ext4 to ext4. I also use windows to transfer data from ntfs to ntfs as a comparison with data transfer speeds windows and linux.
